A portfolio of reimagined music and sound design for existing ads and trailers.
A remake of an Audi commercial with my original music and sound design.
My sound design competition entry of the Shift 2 Unleashed videogame trailer, for the Waves Sound Design Competition 2011.
Playful, quite theatrical, game music but jazzy bass line.
My inspiration for the first idea is a track that uses all analog instruments. My goal was to create something similar to the Super Mario theme but much more laid back with a jazzy-game-music style. I used the analog sounds for the melody and noise for percussion. These involved shaping sine waves, triangle waves, etc. The main vibe of this idea is the playful nature of the pictures, where there are so many changes in the surroundings.
Family-friendly vibe, light-heartead, acoustic.
This second idea brings in a different perspective on the advertisement in terms of instrument selection. I don’t plan to add anything lo-fi to it and write in the same vibe as the songs “Love Love Love” by Avalanche City and “Give a Little Love” from an old Coca-Cola advertisement. I thought of doing this because even though there are no lo-fi instruments, it still captures the simple, staccato, fun, and catchy aspects required.
Easy-going, mellow, acoustic & game music.
My third idea will be similar to the Rugrats Theme. I tried playing the Rugrats Theme at first, in sync with the ad and I found that it complemented the stop-motion style. I think that using the Rugrats Theme as an inspiration for my composition will give off nostalgic vibes. I plan to use analog synths, marimbas, tambourines, and electronic drums for this.
My take on Halo 2's trailer with original music and sound design.
